At UNO, we believe there are few things more important than the very land we’re standing on. However, we all create waste. If you can do a little something to reduce the amount of shit you generate every year, wouldn’t that be a good thing? We definitely think so. Here are some numbers to help you wrap your mind about what you’re about to get into as an UNO shaver.
There is essentially 338% as much post-consumer waste mass attributable to the competitor's cartridge versus an UNO cartridge.
UNO Cartridge:
Protective Cap: 0.75 grams
Cartridge Plastic: 1.05 grams
Stainless Steel: 0.16 grams
Total Waste Mass per Cartridge: 1.96 grams
Gillette* Fusion ProGlide* Cartridge:
Protective Cap: Commonly comes in 4-count tray weighing 14.59g (14.59/4) = 3.65 grams
Fused Plastics, Rubber and Silicone: 1.92 grams
Steel: 1.07 grams
Total Waste Mass per Cartridge: 6.64 grams
Additionally, the “rinse-out” process we are all familiar with in using multi-blade razors uses far more water due to the physics of the problem- it simply takes more time, water pressure and ergo... water to force junk out from between multiple thin blades. An UNO cartridge rinses clean and free of hair using far less water from your tap on each rinse. Mentally add this water use up over a year of shaving. Now smile.
